Our Core Values

  1. Christ-Centered- Knowing that He is the Creator of Life and Sustainer of All Things, and we are made in His image, we submit all of our efforts to Him and know that He, alone, holds the power to restore lives.

  2. Love- We love because He first loved us (1 John 4:19) and empowers us to do hard things together through the love He gives us for each other and Himself.

  3. Accountability- Host families, the mothers they serve, and all others are held accountable to each other and the organization to ensure that the example of Christ-like love and wisdom is displayed in every interaction.

  4. Collaboration- Because of the supportive community-based nature of our work, all persons must work together, offering their skills, experiences, and insights for the benefit of the greater goal.

  5. Perseverance- We are committed to recognizing and overcoming the obstacles that rise up, knowing that Christ is our strength.

  6. Stewardship- As mere conduits of His love and provision to vulnerable women and children, we carefully steward all the resources that The Lord gives, knowing that He is the Provider.

Statement of Faith

Refuge Host Homes is composed of individuals who believe in and confess Jesus Christ as their only Lord and Savior.

  1. We believe that the Bible is the inspired, only infallible, fully authoritative written Word of God in which we find Truth for all of life.

  2. We believe that God is one, eternally co-existent in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

  3. We believe in God the Father, whose creation reveals His unparalleled power and whose love extends to every person even before birth. He is the Originator of the redemptive plan, which He fulfilled by sending His Son Jesus to the earth to ultimately die on the Cross and be resurrected.

  4. We believe in the deity and humanity of Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His atoning death on the cross in our place, in His bodily resurrection and that He sits at the right hand of the Father where He intercedes and advocates for all Believers as High Priest and will return in power and glory.

  5. We believe that The Holy Spirit is Eternal God, convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. He is the life of every believer and He empowers the preaching and the teaching of the Gospel.

  6. We believe that all human beings are created in God’s image, that life begins at conception, and therefore that every pregnant mother is carrying a divine image bearer.

  7. We believe that all who receive the Lord Jesus Christ, by faith alone, are born again of the Holy Spirit, and thereby become children of God, adopted into His family, and are heirs of eternal life. In this, all Believers are eternally secure. Completion of works cannot add to or take away from salvation.

  8. We believe in life after death of both the saved and the lost-the saved to dwell in God’s presence forever, and the lost to exist eternally without God.

  9. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
